National Pretreatment Program Regulations

Objectives of the National Pretreatment Program are accomplished through permitting and compliance activities at the local, state, and federal levels. Individual industrial facilities are regulated by the local control authorities, which are responsible for tracking compliance with applicable federal categorical and local regulations. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulates local Control Authorities Florida. The US EPA regulates state Industrial Pretreatment programs.
