Emergency or Standby Generators

Properly installed generators provide an important service to our Customers. However, generators that are either installed incorrectly or malfunction pose a serious risk to JEA crews working to restore power. While JEA has switching and lockout procedures to help minimize that risk, we need your help. Section 2.16 Adobe Acrobat PDF Document of JEA Rules and Regulations for Electric Service is written to help ensure the compliance with those procedures and keep everyone safe.

JEA System Analysis handles all applications for Emergency or Standby Generators. General turn-around time for an application is five business days. We prefer applications to be submitted online.

Here are the ways that you can submit your application and help keep everyone safe while JEA is working hard to restore power to you and your neighbors:

  1. Fill out and submit a Generator Application online.
  2. E-mail your request to jeagenapp@jea.com
Please provide as much information as possible.
  3. Download the printer-friendly form Adobe Acrobat PDF Document and fax or mail it to our office:
    • Our fax number is (904) 665-4276
    • Our mailing address is:
      JEA - Tower 5
      System Analysis
      21 W. Church Street

If you have any problems or questions, please e-mail us at jeagenapp@jea.com.
