Vital Statistics
Providing electric, water and sewer services to more than one million people on Florida's First Coast, JEA is the largest municipal electric utility in Florida, and the eighth largest in the United States. JEA also operates the second largest water and sewer system in Florida.
Corporate Structure
JEA is governed by a seven member Board of Directors appointed by Jacksonville's Mayor. JEA's staff management is led by our CEO and Managing Director and nine Vice Presidents. JEA's budget is approved annually by the Jacksonville City Council.

Service Area
JEA provides electric service to more than one million people in nearly all of Duval County and portions of St. Johns and Clay counties.
JEA provides water and sewer services to families and businesses in much of Duval County and portions of Nassau, St. Johns, and Clay counties.
Power Plants
JEA operates four power plant sites in Jacksonville and has an ownership interest in a power plant in Georgia.
Water Plants
Two major grids make up JEA's water systems: the North Grid, which is comprised of nine water treatment plants, and the South Grid, which is comprised of 13 water treatment plants. Some areas of Jacksonville are served by smaller, hydraulically independent plants. In all, JEA operates 33 water treatment plants and delivers water through a system of more than 3,600 miles of water lines.
Sewer Plants
JEA's sewer collection system handles more than 125 million gallons of wastewater per day through more than 3,200 miles of pipe and six wastewater treatment facilities.
Electric System
JEA delivers electricity to more than 391,000 meters in Northeast Florida by means of a distribution system.
